I realize now that in my determination to wear things I had just bought to fashion week events last September I wound up throwing together boring looks that barely represented me. Sometimes the best pieces are the ones you know inside out. Of course, my hesitance to wear these wedges is not completely unfounded seeing as they were obscenely trendy when Balenciaga made the original for S/S 07. And then the leggings I just made two weeks ago, but my point remains. That, and I don't perform (i.e. dress) well under pressure.
There is really nothing worse than being uncomfortable when I'm working in the studio, not to mention when I'm making something for myself it's imperative that I wear something easy to take on and off so I can repeatedly try on what I'm making.
And the progress I've made so far on my patchwork bodysuit for Halloween. The lace and mesh panels go down the sides, so in between them is the back side. Not sure if I'm going to find the time to finish this before Saturday so it's likely I will wind up wearing one of the prototypes or even my bodysuit from last year. And yes, I know my belt doesn't match my pants - somehow I've never found a plain black belt that suited my taste (probably going to dye this one black sometime).
Took advantage of the nice weather today and wore the leggings I made recently. Feels good to get out of jeans for once, even if the silhouette is essentially the same.
